Decisions, decisions

If indecision was an Olympic sport, we'd be serious contenders for the gold medal.

We're still in Foz Do Arelho, but will be leaving early tomorrow morning. We should have left today, but a couple of beers round at Callum and Issie's last night turned into dinner and a lot of wine.  We both feel fine today but it was a very late night, so we've had a lazy day today.

Pete has actually been reading (those of you who know him, know that he doesn't do that very often!) and I've finished off another painting that I started yesterday; you can see the original photo and my interpretation below.  It's no Van Gogh but I'm quite pleased with the result.

We had a long night of deliberating on Saturday, trying to decide which was the best route to take in order to miss as little as possible, whilst ensuring that we still manage to reach our summer goal of visiting Scandinavia.  We decided that the easiest option for us was to take the shortest route up and spend more time getting back down and exploring.  The upshot of this is that we've moved our expected arrival in Denmark to mid May and will be keeping fingers crossed that our timings don't result in too many mosquito bites when we hit Lapland.  We leave our current spot tomorrow morning and will be heading for Marvão, a fortress village right by the Spanish border.  It'll be slow going as it's just over 200km to get there, but I have no doubt the scenery en route will be stunning.   From there, we'll work our way north through Spain to France then onwards to Germany.  I'll not go into too much detail about where we intend to visit as we'll probably change our minds when we reach the Spanish border!!  Internet access over the next week will likely be non-existent as we'll be back in Spain; but provided we can locate the French SIM card (we know it's hiding somewhere in Dora!), we should be back up and running with regular internet in France...

In the meantime, we hope you all had a happy Easter and don't forget, no news is good news!
