This
morning we left the Pleslin and headed west to our next overnight stop. We had planned to stop off at Cape Frehel en
route but our camperstop guide had misinformed us that parking was free. Having already put back up coordinates in the
GPS, (which we’ve taken to calling Hazel), we admired the beautiful views on
our way to Hillion.
We arrived at
lunchtime and I have to say it’s one of the better stops so far. There are free services just around the
corner, including fresh water and we’ve a fabulous view of the bay.
After the
obligatory lunch of bread, cheese, pate and saucisse, we had a lazy afternoon,
taking photographs and generally just enjoying the surroundings.
It was
lovely and quiet when we arrived, but as seems to be the norm in France,
everyone has come out to play / walk on the beach now that people have finished
work, so it’s become quite a thoroughfare.
I can’t complain though – they’ll all be off to have their evening meals
soon enough and then we’ll almost have the place to ourselves again – there is
another Brit van parked here; it’s a small world – we saw them parked up in
Avranches a few days ago too, although our typical British reserve has
prevented us from talking to them yet!
If there
are no moped racing teens here later, I’ll be a happy bunny!
Our internet connection is still pretty pooh so we're going to have a bit of a backlog of photos to upload once it improves...
Update: Fast forward an hour or two and we finally got chatting to our British neighbour, the lovely Francie from Northumberland. She’s very bravely travelling alone through France and Spain for the next couple of months en route to see a friend on the south coast of Spain in her little self build van. We had a lovely chat with her about a bit of everything and after sharing a glass or two of wine in Dora, did a book and other useful bits swap before saying goodnight.
